Rosy Red Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a beautiful variety of this classic flowering herb. Easy to start from seed and get established in the garden, and not at all picky about soil conditions. Plants eventually form clusters of flowers with variegated hues that range from pastel pink to deep red. As the plants are rhizomatous perennials, mature plants can be divided via root cuttings. We established a number of yarrows throughout our fruit orchard in this manner, as they attract benefit nutrients and confuse pests and provide valuable living mulch.
Yarrow is also a noted medicinal herb – though Rosy Red is considered less potent than White Yarrow, which we also carry. Finally, these flowers make a long striking addition to flower bouquets – or just use them as cut flowers on their own.
